110 Liver or Kidneys

Prophecy is truth that comes directly from God to a believer for the benefit to the sphere of influence this believer has. I think by not seeking after this gift we often seek truth that has been given to others in other places. This heavenly wisdom borrowed from others may indeed be heavenly, but it also may not be the truth that needs to be spoken in the body you are in. Prophecy seems to be the liver or kidneys of a local body of believers and it stands to reason that each church would have localized problems that God wants to speak to. And this is the job of those with the gift of prophecy.
