May your money perish with you.

Strong words spoken against wrong ideas. A man recognized that Peter had something he did not. It would be easy to distance ourselves from this and say I've never thought something like that. Unfortunately I think most of us who have been a part of a church have done just that. How many times have we seen a need and promptly told the pastor to do something about it. How many times has God put evangelism on our mind and instead of venturing out, the best we can do is invite that person to church so the minister can share the message God was asking of us. How many times have we said that's the pastors job. That's what we are paying him for after all. Paying someone else to do what God wants us to do not only keeps us in a place of complete ineffectiveness, it also seems to be very near to disobedience. How patronizing is it to God, who owns everything to think that our paltry little tithes make up for our disobedient and lazy hearts. Again, God is kind not to have rubbed us out long ago.
