141 Spirit of Oppression

I suspect there is a spirit of oppression on this land.  It is ironic that we are out of touch with spiritual warfare because at times I wonder if we, in the western world experience even more than other places.  I sat through a couple summer camps with kids and often sat back a bit and watched the craziness and confusion that many kids found themselves.  As I thought, I began to think of the barrage of distraction that haunts them.  Many kids struggled to be away from their toys, devices, or favorite snacks.  Trying to have a conversation with them was difficult.  I sat talking to a kid and began to think about it a different way.  What if the war was closer to the doorstep than we realized?  What if the obsession a six or seven year old might have with a certain video game was actually a spiritual attack?  Possibly even calling it an oppression or possession.  We ought to understand and recognize the spiritual battle better than we do.
