Believe in

What does it mean to believe in someone? Do players on a sports team believe in their coach? If so is it enough for the team to believe in their coach or do they actually have to do what he says? What if a coach knows his team and knows they are capable of taking the title? Is it enough for the team to believe him when he says so or does the team have to practice constantly, eagerly taking every instruction to heart and acting on them. Does it take many gruling hours during the season to win the title, with many small wins along the way? Or is it enough to simply sit on your thumbs knowing that you believed your coach when he said you could take the championship? When we accept the words that Jesus said, do we spend the rest of our lives believing all His promises and instruction, or are we content only believing that part that includes winning a golden ticket to heaven? Who exactly is it, that Jesus will say "away from me, I never knew you?"
