24 Talk

Out of the overflow of the heart, the mouth speaks. I'm not sure people really realize how much they wear their hearts on their sleeves. I listen to conversations, whether it be at church or between believers anywhere, and on average we Christians do not talk much about Christ. We talk about our lives, the weather, kids, friends, movies, hunting, vacations, and when we do talk about spiritual things talk drifts to church programs, worship styles, or maybe what the pastor may or may not be doing right. Needless to say, if our hearts can be judged by the things we choose to talk about, then I would say we are very far from hungering and thirsting after righteousness. It seems as though we have relegated the reason for gathering to social fellowship, rather than desperate search after God.
